Junior Counselor

Dear "Prospective" Junior Counselor:

Well, it's THAT time again! Are you ready? We hope so. We have had a great year, but it is definitely not the same without camp. We are really excited about the summer of 2010 and are asking for God's guidance as plans are being made.

Please fill out the below application form and mail it to us no later than MARCH 01, 2010. That is when we will begin to make the schedules. I will work hard to have schedules out by March 15th. Please be patient as we receive hundreds of applications. We will try to use as many of you as we can, but naturally we need those who CAME THE MOST, WORKED THE HARDEST, AND DID THEIR VERY BEST, both as a camper and as a J. C., if you have worked before. (If you are applying to work for the 2nd or 3rd summer you will be considered partially on the evaluation of your previous summer.) We will try to place you in the session you prefer to work, but sometimes, due to conflicting schedules that is not always possible.

You know the high standards we set for both counselors and campers! So if you have started to smoke, drink, dabble in the drug scene, have immoral sex, have any inappropriate body piercing, or do anything that would be a damaging witness to our campers please do not bother to fill this out. You would be miserable here, and we do not want you to impart that influence on our campers. Please be honest!

Get busy and fill out the WHOLE application, answering ALL of the questions. Read it all! Where it says to list your highest achievement below the activities, fill in what awards you received in each or how much experience you've had in each activity at Brookhill or outside of Brookhill. We don't know how much you can help in that activity if you don't tell us. Remember, coming to Brookhill as a J.C. is not just how long you came as a camper, but how you can HELP as a J. C. - so the more you can do the better.

Don't wait too long to send it back in, or we won't have a place for you after the schedule has been made.

To be a Brookhill J.C., there are three requirements:

1. You must attend a J.C. Staff Training (there are no exceptions). There will be two J.C. Training dates to choose from and you must attend one of them. The first is on Saturday, May 29th from 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The second date is Saturday, June 5th from 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. You must be on time!!!!
2. Your life must be free of the problems discussed in this letter.
3. You should be flexible to serve and help were ever you're needed.
