David Pate started coming to camp in the summer of 1989. He then joined the All Summer Staff as an AC in 1996. It was this same summer he met his wife, MeLisa. David then became the Senior Counselor of the Mustang bunkhouse and joined the Administration Team, continuing to work during the summer months. Additionally, David was a basketball coach and principal of a local school before switching to the full-time position of Brookhill CEO in 2018. He and Melisa have been married for 20 years and have two children, Olivia and Eli. Olivia is now the senior counselor of the Percheron Bunkhouse. David oversees the hiring of the staff and the ranch’s budget. He spends a large part of his time connecting with people and challenging them to understand their purpose, develop their God-given character, and grow the gifts they have been given in order to become leaders.
Mike McMillan was a camper from 1988 to 1991. Mike realized early on that his love for Brookhill Ranch was focused on the land and its care and maintenance, so he took a job as a ranch hand throughout the remainder of his high school years. He and his wife, Lynlee, got married in 2004, the same year Mike moved to the ranch and began working. In 2018, Mike became the COO of Brookhill. Now, Mike oversees all of the land and facilities maintenance as well as caring for the ranch animals and building projects. In addition to being the COO of Brookhill, Mike is the CEO of 4M Cattle Company which raises and sells premium beef. Mike takes pride in maintaining the ranch as a peaceful and beautiful place, and his favorite thing to do is working with his Hereford cattle.

MeLisa Pate is the 2nd oldest granddaughter of Don and Hettie Brooks and was raised at Brookhill Ranch. Her first job at camp began when she was five years old, and included serving cokes and picking up trash around the ranch. She then worked several summers in the kitchen, and became an AC on All-Summer Staff before she was the Senior Counselor of the Galiceno bunkhouse. MeLisa married David Pate and began working in the camp office that same year. MeLisa is the mother of Olivia and Eli and doubles as the mother of the All-Summer Staff when camp is in session. In 2018, MeLisa began working full-time as the Property Manager for Brookhill. She runs the VRBO, decorates the various properties, and is the creative visionary behind the annual Brookhill Market. In addition to these responsibilities, MeLisa does the bunkhouse assignments for camp.
Lynlee McMillan is the oldest granddaughter of Hettie and Don Brooks. Lynlee grew up on the ranch and had her first job at only five years old picking up tennis balls after the activities. Lynlee worked her way up from tennis balls to serving cokes, and eventually became a JC in the Archery activity. In her ninth grade year, Lynlee graduated from Camp 1, becoming an AC on All-Summer Staff immediately after. She became the camp director at 17, going on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Camp Administration from Oral Roberts University. Lynlee and Mike McMillan married in 2004, where she soon after had their daughter, Campbell, in 2007, and their son, Carson, in 2010. Lynlee became the Executive Director in 2018, where she does a number of jobs including creating the camp schedules and staff schedules, writing various contracts and policies, organizing the Brookhill Market, and working with the media department to implement marketing strategies. As well, Lynlee works closely with the Support Staff when camp is in session.
Katy Beth Smith
Kelle Stahl

Office Manager
Kelle Stahl began working at Brookhill ranch in the camp office as the secretary in 2000. In 2018, she became the CFO for the company. From making activity assignments, bunkhouse assignments, answering the phone, ordering camp and ranch supplies, and everything in between, Kelle has done it all. She now spends her time managing the budget, paying the bills, and making payroll. Kelle and her husband, Greg, have been married for over 40 years and have one son who has recently retired from the Airforce National Guard after 2 tours and 20 years of service to our country.
Katy-Beth Smith was a camper at Brookhill from 1999-2003. She then became the Senior Counselor of the Thoroughbred bunkhouse in 2010, and served as the First Aid counselor from 2011-2015. Katy-Beth has been on the Administration Team since 2013, and began working in the office as the manager full-time in the spring of 2021. She has many jobs in the office, including answering the phones, responding to emails, and running the Camp Wise Registration. Katy-Beth met her husband, Andrew, while working at Brookhill where he served as the Senior Counselor of the Bronco Bunkhouse. They happily have one son. Katy-Beth’s favorite part of Brookhill is making the camper’s dreams come true while at camp, which looks like getting children off the waitlist and organizing bunkhouse and activity assignments for each and every camper.
Tyler Fincher
Jason Ross
Camp Director
Media Director
Jason Ross began working at Brookhill Ranch as the Senior Counselor of the Buckskins bunkhouse in 2010. In 2014, Jason joined the Administration Staff and served as the Camp Director part-time. Jason was a Children’s Pastor for seven years before beginning his full-time employment at Brookhill Ranch in 2020. In addition to being the Camp Director, Jason travels and hosts the Brookhill Bible studies across several states, hosts Brookhill Devotions every other week, and is a speaker and worship leader at Turkey Day. He also is the staff liaison. Jason met his wife, Sydney, at camp where she was a senior counselor of the Palomino Bunkhouse.
Tyler Fincher was a camper at Brookhill Ranch from 2001 to 2007. He then became the Senior Counselor of not only one, but three bunkhouses: the Morgans, the Broncos, and the Appaloosas. Tyler then joined the Administration Staff as a part of the Media Team in 2018. In 2020, Tyler joined the staff full-time as the Media Director. Tyler’s job entails designing the Brookhill Website, running the various Brookhill social media profiles, overseeing the camp Media Team, and organizing all the IT installations at the ranch.
Austin Sligh
Ranch Manager
Austin Sligh began working at Brookhill Ranch doing construction with his dad when he was a teenager. After graduating from high school, Austin recieved his EMT license and began working in the ER at CHI St. Vincent. After a few years working in the healthcare profession, Austin moved to a full-time position at Sligh and Sons Construction. Austin was then employed as the Ranch Manager in 2021. As Ranch Manager, Austin is charged with taking care of the livestock, running various work crews on the ranch, and both winterizes and de-winterizes the ranch facilities. Additionally, Austin works alongside Mike in construction and demolition projects, ranch maintenance, ranch equipment care, and runs heavy machinery as well as readying the facilities for big events.
